Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Zombeez Game Jam

1. Introduction Welcome to the Zombeez Game Jam hosted by Fan Studio. By participating in this game jam, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before registering.

2. Eligibility
2.1. Participation in the Zombeez Game Jam is open to individuals who are 16+ years or older.
2.2. Participants must register on the official game jam page on itch.io to be eligible for participation and prizes.

3. Registration
3.1. To participate, you must register on the official Zombeez Game Jam page on itch.io during the registration period.
3.2. Only registered participants are eligible to submit entries and win prizes.

4. Game Development Requirements
4.1. All games must be developed (preferably) using the Unity engine, version 2021 or above.
4.2. Participants must use the provided Zombeez graphics package, which includes characters, weapons, environments, traps, and bonuses.
4.3. Games must be developed and submitted within the specified timeframe: June 14th, 2024 to June 30th, 2024.

5. Submission Guidelines
5.1. Games must be submitted on the official Zombeez Game Jam page on itch.io by the deadline: June 30th, 2024.
5.2. Each submission must include a description of the game, gameplay instructions, and any relevant screenshots or videos.

6. Intellectual Property
6.1. All provided assets (graphics, sounds, etc.) remain the intellectual property of Fan Studio.
6.2. Participants are not allowed to publish or commercially use these assets outside of this game jam without written permission from Fan Studio.

7. Voting and Judging
7.1. Games will be judged based on the following criteria:

– Fun Factor
– Creativity
– Effective Use of Zombeez Assets
7.2. Voting will be open to the public and a panel of judges from Fan Studio.
7.3. The decision of the judges is final and binding.

8. Prizes
8.1. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize.
8.2. The winner will collaborate with Fan Studio: We will be taking care of the publishing process, marketing materials, promotion, and most of the development work involved afterwards, while working closely with the winner to publish the game on Nintendo Switch, PS, and Steam.
8.3. Revenue Share: The winner will receive at least 10% of the sales/revenue from the game on these platforms (after taxes). This is the starting point for negotiations, especially if the winner chooses not to be involved after the game jam ends.
8.4. Fan Studio reserves the right to negotiate the revenue share percentage with the winner during the development process.

9. Development Support
9.1. Fan Studio will provide development support to the winner to help polish and prepare the game for release.
9.2. This support includes development assistance, marketing, and publishing efforts.

10. Disqualification
10.1. Fan Studio reserves the right to disqualify any participant who breaches these terms and conditions or engages in any form of misconduct.
10.2. Disqualified participants forfeit any claim to prizes.

11. Amendments
11.1. Fan Studio reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time AND any changes will be communicated to participants via the official game jam page on itch.io.

12. Limitation of Liability
12.1. Fan Studio shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the Zombeez Game Jam.

13. Governing Law
13.1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the UK & European Union in which Fan Studio is based.

By participating in the Zombeez Game Jam, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and AGREE to be bound by these terms and conditions.
